The music of the Tamils from the ancient period to the period of the Tamil trinity can be divided into four epochs- 

The Sangam - 3rd to 6th century AD

Thehymnal epoch -6th to 12th century AD, comprising of Tevaram, Divya Prabandham etc

The Medieval period -12th to 16th century AD comprising of Arunagirinathar’s Tirupugazh and so on

The Kirtana period-16th to 18th century AD saw a host of composers followed by some very prominent ones in the coming years.

In this module we have chosen different Kirtanas composed by various composers in various ragas.

Prerequisite: Should have strong hold in the basics and know tamil language. Should have learnt at least 5 varnams and 15 kritis.
