We are very delighted to introduce Smt. Aruna Venkat, a young and upcoming vocalist. She has learnt Classical music for more than ten years, starting at the age of 8. She has learnt from various Gurus like Smt. Srividya Ramnath (disciple of Shri. Neyveli Santhanagopalan), Smt. Gayathri Venkatraghavan and Shri. K.V.Ananthan.
She had been singing namavali and bhajans along with her father Shri. Bhajan Ravi from her childhood. She has also sung songs on various Gods and Navagraha. She has sung songs on Kanchi Maha Periyavaa written and composed by her father in law Shri. S. Chandrasekaran.
Currently she is learning Abhangs and Carnatic music from Smt. Savita Sreeram, and also lends vocal support to her in many concerts.
Awards & Achievements
- She was awarded the “National award for music” from the President of India during the National children festival.
- She received “Nehru Yuva Kendra sangathan” a Tamilnadu State award for music from late minister Mr.Anbazhagan
- She has passed the Lower Grade Tamilnadu government music examination.
- "B" Grade artist in All India Radio in the Devotional Music category.
Performances
- Aruna has given solo concerts twice for the programme “Thamizhisai” on DD Podhigai TV.
- She has performed with her Guru Smt. Savita Sreeram for the Nadaneerajanam programme in Tirupati.
- She has also sung twice with her father Shri. Bhajan Ravi in DD podhigai channel for the programme "Bhakthi Innisai".
- She performs in All India Radio once in every six months under the Devotional Music Category.
