(Intermediate to advanced level)
Mysore Vasudevacharya (1865–1961) was a towering figure in Carnatic music, whose life spanned nearly a century. A composer of exceptional talent, he belonged to the musical lineage of Saint Tyagaraja, through Manambuchavadi Venkatasubbayyar and Patnam Subramania Iyer. With a rich repertoire of over 200 compositions—including pada varnas, tana varnas, kritis, javalis, tillanas, and ragamalikas—he made significant contributions to the tradition. His works are set in both Telugu and Sanskrit.
This workshop offers a wonderful opportunity for students to delve into and explore some of his timeless masterpieces.
