Sindhuja Sundaram, a musician by passion and a technologist by profession, resides in Chennai, India. Born in a Tanjorean family, Sindhuja has a natural aptitude for classical music. She received her stimulus and early tutelage in Carnatic Music from her mother Vijayalakshmi Sundaram, a formally trained Carnatic musician, when she was about 4 years old. Music is in her genetics as her hereditary has been traced to the much acclaimed Composer Ganam Krishna Iyer, who was a Guru in the Royal Court of King Sarbhoji II of Thanjavur and a contemporary of Trinity of Carnatic Music Sri. Thiyagaraya Swamigal, Sri. Muthuswamy Dikshithar and Sri. Shyama Sastry. The title Ganam was conferred on Sri. Krishna Iyer by none less than Sri. Thiyagaraya Swamigal in recognition of his exemplary competence in Ganam.
Sindhuja started her formal learning with other teachers from when she was 7 years old. And, she pursued her training for about 10 years thereon with Guru Smt. Kamala Venkatraman, the junior of the popular Therazhundur Sisters to perfect her budding skills in a proper mould. Having started performing on stages in small slots over a period, Sindhuja aspired to go for advancement in theories of Carnatic Music and joined a three years course in Swami Haridhos Giri School of Music, Chennai which is affiliated to University of Madras. There, she was trained by Guru Smt. R. S. Jayalakshmi and Guru Sri. C. R. Vaidhyanathan under the direct stewardship of Sri. P. S. Narayanaswami Iyer. She received a lot of appreciation from Sri. P. S. Narayanaswami Iyer on her studious absorption of theories and manodhara skills. This course is recognised as equivalent to B.A – Music in University of Madras and she is now pursuing M.A – Music.
Sindhuja is a B. Tech graduate from Anna University and is in service with a MNC in Information Technology, driven by passion in Carnatic Music, she continues to learn further intricate nuances with Smt. Uma Subramanian and Sri. Vishnu Dev Namboothiri, both A-Grade Artists of AIR and well professed stalwarts in stage performance and teaching.
Sindhuja teaches Carnatic Music to enthusiastic children and she now contours her focus into evolving a unique pedagogy in training her little buds of students.

Sindhuja has won Excellent Performer award twice in VDS Arts Academy and has also won prizes in various other classical music fora.
