Vidwan Sri Madurai R. Rajaram, B.A., CAIIB Vidwan Sri Madurai R. Rajaram, B.A., CAIIB, is an accomplished Carnatic vocalist, dedicated music educator, and retired banker from a nationalised bank. Born into a family deeply rooted in music and bhakti, he inherited a rich musical legacy from his father, Brahmashri Palamadi Ramasubramania Bhagavathar, an ardent disciple of Pujyasri Gopalakrishna Bhagavathar of Pudukottai. His mother, Smt. Meenakshi, fostered a devotional atmosphere that nurtured his musical pursuits. He received initial training under Madurakala Praveena Sri Ramanathapuram C. Sankarasivam and later trained under Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri D. K. Jayaraman, Sri T. M. Thyagarajan and Sri Pallavi Venkataraman. He has performed at prestigious sabhas across India, taught over one hundred students in India and abroad, served as Music Teacher at SSKV School, Kancheepuram, and is presently a faculty member at E-Ambalam Life Art Education, Chennai. He has presented concerts and workshops in Dubai, the United States and Singapore, served as judge for several music competitions, and as External Examiner for the University of Madras. Awards and Honours • Asthana Vidwan – Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham. • Nallore Virudhu – Sri Krishna Sweets. • Sri Syama Sastry Sangeetha Ratna – National Syama Sastry Sangeetha Festival Committee, Hyderabad, with Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham (27 April 2022). • Sangeetha Seva Nirata Award – Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Vidwath Samajam, Chennai (7 May 2022). • Swara Sankara Laya Bhoopathy – Kumara Ghana Sabha Trust, Madurai. He has appeared on Raj TV, Sri Sankara TV and Podhigai TV, and provided vocal support to Padma Bhushan & Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri T. N. Seshagopalan for “Naamasankeerthana Vaibhavam”. Vidwan Sri Madurai R. Rajaram continues to enrich the world of Carnatic music through his performances, teaching, mentorship and dedicated service to the musical community
