Learn and render traditional Namavalis with clarity devotion and proper pronunciation. This module focuses on simple yet soulful compositions that help students develop rhythm bhava (expression) and confidence in devotional singing.

Prerequisite : Students with interest in learning vocal music.

Content:

  • Simple and short bhajans and namavali.
  • Basic understanding of talam and ragam bhavam along with the essence  meaning and value of each song will be taught
  • Will improve listening and learning capabilities of students

Content:

  • Treasure of beautiful compositions – bhajans keerthanas abhang desh bhakti geet in different ragas.
  • Emphasis will be given to talam and ragam bhavam along with the essence  meaning and value of each song.
  • Will improve listening and learning capabilities of students.Students will be taught the arohanam and avarohanam of the raga depending on the song being taught.

Note: The number of compositions taught will depend on the student’s abilities.

Simple Sloka recitals (basically for kids)Develop the art of chanting slokas with correct pronunciation rhythm and expression. This module helps students improve diction voice modulation and devotional presentation while gaining a deeper appreciation of sacred verses.

Prerequisite: All levels

Session wise planning: 1 sloka per class.

Content :

Few small slokas will be taught which can also be sung.

Oonjal songs are popularly sung in many south Indian weddings. They are generally sung during the morning hours before the actual wedding happens. The Bride and the Groom will be swinging in the oonjal while songs go on and the elders of the house will be performing the traditional rituals. It is considered very auspicious to sing these songs as they are a combination of positive vibes happy/meaningful lyrics and peppy beats.

The nottuswara (nōṭṭusvaras from “note” + “swaras”) are a set of 33 composition in Carnatic music by Muthuswami Dikshitar in Shankarabharanam ragam. They are a fusion of old western classical tunes with the tradition and richness of carnatic music which can be also regarded as a different genre. Since these are much simpler to learn it encourages children/beginners to learn carnatic music with fun.

Nottuswaram has 2 parts. These modules are offered as group class.
