Musical Training Sripriya has undergone rigorous training in Carnatic music under several eminent gurus, enriching her musical journey with diverse bani-s and traditions. She has trained under: Late Sri Anandan, nephew and disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavatar Smt. Sridevi Padmanabhan, disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Late Sri D. K. Jayaraman Sangeetha Kalanidhi Late Smt. Mani Krishnaswamy Sangeetha Kala Acharya Late Sri S. Rajam, from whom she specialized in the compositions of Koteeswara Iyer She also receives guidance, whenever possible, from Smt. Sankari Krishnan, disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Late Sri Lalgudi G. Jayaraman Awards & Achievements Recipient of the Government of India Central Scholarship (1990) for Carnatic Music. Specialized in Koteeswara Iyer kritis under the guidance of Late Sri S. Rajam. All India Radio (AIR) B-High Grade Artist. Master of Music, University of Madras (2005–2007). Winner of numerous prizes at leading music sabhas across Chennai during the December Music Season (1987–1991). Recipient of the prestigious Rajaji Tambura Award from Tamil Isai Sangam (1990). Concert Career Sripriya has performed extensively at many of Chennai’s prestigious music sabhas until 1994, and again between 2000 and 2003. She lived in Australia from 1994 to 2000, where she actively performed at music festivals and cultural events in Sydney and Melbourne, contributing to the promotion of Carnatic music among the Indian diaspora. Teaching Experience With over 25 years of teaching experience, Sripriya has mentored students of all age groups, nurturing both beginners and advanced learners. During her stay in Australia, she taught Carnatic music to a wide range of students. She currently conducts online Carnatic music classes for students across India and around the world, continuing her commitment to preserving and propagating the rich tradition of Indian classical music.
